Nearly 70,000 people are expected on the weekend of 28 and 29 April in the streets of Port-Louis on the occasion of the Chinatown Food and Cultural Festival. An event that celebrates the Chinese culture, at the initiative of the China Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with HSBC and the Chinese Cultural Centre.
The program promises to be colorful. Lion dance and dragon, traditional songs, martial arts demonstration, calligraphy and Chinese embroidery, everything would be traveling to the public. Besides the possibility to taste typical dishes from China, in the food halls of the capital or the restaurants of Chinatown.
For this eighth edition, the Chinese Cultural Centre saw the big picture. Several artists who came especially from China will be present for the occasion. Among them, the troops of puppetry, martial arts and renowned chefs. The election of Little Miss Chinatown will also take place Sunday, April 29th at 15h.
Armand Ah Kong, the President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCC), said the event aims to "preserve Chinese culture and make it more lively Chinatown."
