The PNQ this Tuesday, June 19 will focus on the proposed gas storage household in the harbor. Paul Berenger will question the Minister of Trade and Industry on the fate of this project whose main proponent is Dr. Maurice Sunil Gunness, in partnership with the multinational Petredec, through the company United.
Paul Berenger will first seek to know the reasons why the State Trading Corporation (STC) to choose the company United Petroil Ltd.. Cader Sayed Hossen will then be asked about the investments of multinational Petredec Cyprus.
The appropriate Minister of the STC must also provide details on the agreements signed between the corporation and the project sponsors. And, finally, Paul Berenger will investigate whether the discussions between the companies concerned and TCC are still ongoing.
The initial draft of the STC was designed to increase the storage capacity of domestic gas in the harbor. It was found in partnership for the construction of storage facilities to the tune of 15,000 tons of which 10,000 will be for export to neighboring countries. The corporation aims to become, through this project, the largest supplier of domestic gas in this part of the Indian Ocean.
For the leader of the opposition, this project lies a new scandal that has already assigned the unflattering name of Betamax II.
