Consultation Operators: Public Sector Educators to Eliminate the Pitfalls of Inadequate Training

The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) takes another step in its fight against the lack of skilled labour in the sector of information technology and communication, as well as in that of outsourcing .

After presenting the results of a comprehensive study on the phenomenon last month, the HRDC meeting this Thursday with Cinnamon, Domaine les Straws, all parties concerned, namely, those responsible for developing training programs, both educational and professionals, private sector operators and public sector representatives.

The meeting's objectives are: 

• The identification of obstacles that do not allow the emergence of effective coordination between the education sector, training providers and sector operators,
• The development of strategies to remove these barriers and the gap between academic and industry needs
• The establishment of a space that will promote trade and a better understanding of developments taking place between academia and the labour sector
• Creating a platform that will enable the development of training programs with a clear potential job market.

The work of this workshop should lead also to the establishment of a true induction program within companies, a form of cooperation that will enable the education sector and industry to strengthen their ties, and finally looking for a true commitment to the strategy to implement the recommendations.

" The HRDC considers it essential to build and maintain strong connections between education, training centers and the workplace. This is probably the most appropriate way to disappear as the gap between demand and availability of professional skills of the labour market , "says Raj Auckle, Director of Human Resource Development Council.
