Young and old from the South were present in large numbers on the Esplanade Sir Gaetan Duval to watch the competition of racing. This event saw the participation of fishers of Mahebourg, professionals from the coast of the island and the children of the sailing school. Thus, the race canoes is a tradition in the region.
The public could enjoy this colorful parade. In addition, the Esplanade Sir Gaetan Duval looked like a party because some came with their picnic for the day. There was also a big concert with the provision of artists such as OSB Crew, Armel and Clarel Kadans Tropikal, Denis Claude Gaspard, Zenfan Dodo, Saturday Group and Group Zulu.
Furthermore, SMEDA had organized a large exhibition of SMEs with over 5000 products on sale including clothing, accessories, shoes and interior decorations.
As for the tourist office, it offered gifts in a draw. The three winners walked away with a savings of Rs 5,000 offered by MPCB, lunch for two at the Domaine de l'Etoile and a voucher of Rs 500 in stores and Habit Shristee respectively.
In class fisherman, the boat LaPinta which won first prize. Its owners are left with a check for Rs 15,000, while the second and third winners received a check for Rs 10,000 and Rs 8000 respectively.
The regatta of the professional category which included twenty participants, was won by Nadal, Jean Francois and Bruno. They pocketed a check for Rs 20,000. The other two winners each received a check for Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 each.
Children's sailing school received a check of Rs 20,000 for their splendid parade.
La Fiesta Shopping Mauritius and Mahebourg, the historic village the country, have vibrated to the sound of artists until sunset. The next meeting was arranged for June 2013.
