The holding of the 2012 edition of the Festival International Kreol was made at a press conference yesterday. Minister of Tourism and Recreation, Michael Sik Yuen spoke about the importance of Kreol in our society. "Culture and language Kreol has enhanced and consolidated the reputation of Mauritius. Kreol is the integral part of our society, the diaspora is increasingly visible and our pride. "
Several politicians were also present including the Minister of Arts and Culture, Mookhesswur Choonee, the Minister of Gender Equality, Mireille Martin, Minister of Fisheries, Nicholas Von Mally, Thierry Henry and the PPS Aurore Perraud and President TEWF, Ghiselaine Henry.
Four days of festivities were established to celebrate and promote the Kreol.

The Minister of Arts and Culture has launched an invitation to the public to come and enjoy these four days under the theme Kreolite Nu Lidantite. "There will be many surprises and innovations especially with poetry competitions among others."
