The Ambassador of France to Mauritius, Jean-François Dobelle, has officially launched the Alumni Association of the Mauritian National School of Administration (AAEMENA) in December at a reception at his residence in the honor of 18 members.

In his speech for the occasion, he said that the training received by the Public Service Scholars from abroad at the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in France is high level and notes that cooperation with Maurice in 1995.

The Ambassador of France to Mauritius notes that "recognition of the excellence of the École nationale d'administration abroad in general and particularly in Mauritius, meets one of the main objectives focused its creation in 1945, which was the French model of administration can be shared by all those who are responsible to implement public policy. " Since its inception, emphasized Mr. Dobelle, ENA has trained more than 3000 students foreign officials, beginners or experienced, originating from 127 countries.

Addressing members of the new association, he said: "It is your responsibility to structure your organization now. "He added that the embassy's support in this endeavor. Similar associations exist throughout the world: "From Madagascar to Australia, Colombia, Japan, to Brazil and Senegal Russia or Croatia, the last country in which just created a similar association "

He also believes that the association can share information and mentor new officials called to Mauritian training at ENA in France. "The Association could usefully act as a think tank helping to reflect on major issues and major issues of good governance and advising the Mauritian government in the formulation of public policies," says Ambassador France to Mauritius.

He observes that "the interest and willingness of the Mauritian authorities vis-à-vis the training provided by the NAS to its officials has not wavered," since the first training provided in 1995. "Since then, 18 other Mauritian officials were able to attend training at the ENA benefiting from scholarships from the French government, and in November, two other new colleagues of Maurice left to start their internship in Paris , bringing to 20 the number of fellows ENA, which I am glad, "said he.

The goal: to help future candidates to prepare for competition selection ENA. There was also mention of a seminar organized for officials of Mauritius in July 2007 in Mauritius on the theme "Human Resources Management as a vector modernization of the Public," with the assistance of the ENA .

Of the 18 officers trained, eleven are women, says Dobelle, which states that "candidates for scholarships are selected on ENA contest held exclusively by their own merit."

Speaking in turn, the president of the newly created Fareed Chuttan, should dwell on what their training has brought the ENA "academic and practical training focused on the daily work of managers Public Service. "He adds:" Mauritius has a mixed history with a strong influence in the Franco-British administration as reflected in our legislation bipolar. At NAS, we were able to get to know the workings of the French government and the European Union, the two entities are among the largest economic partners of Mauritius. "In addition, the passage to the NAS is an enrichment for every foreign student who lives together with others, including French, emphasizes Dr. Chuttan. While noting that this training is not the key to a promotion, it is an asset, highlights the association president. He stressed that the training is imparted to the ENA assistant secretaries of public administration and second secretaries of the diplomatic service.
