Employees of the textile factory Bon-Horizon Ltd are worried. They received a management letter informing them that as of 31 January, the company will cease operations. However, employees do not know whether they will receive their full due according to their time of service. This textile factory located in Quatre-Bornes specializes in the manufacture of ready-to-wear for export.
" The company has thirty persons aged 60 years and over fifty foreign workers, excluding those who have more than twenty years of service in the company. But we were informed that we will not pay all of our due , "says one of the employees of the plant.
Employees are not unionized, they say having referred directly to the Minister of Labour. They have, however, received no response Shakeel Mohamed, the latter being absent from the country.
This Wednesday, January 9, employees went to office work report for Rose Hill dismissal. A meeting is scheduled between the factory management and employees in the presence of an inspector from the Ministry of Labour on Tuesday, January 15th.
