This change is a result of the amendments to the New Local Government Act 2011. City dwellers will have to fill out a form available in the municipalities. They must notify the area of land or a building, if the work is completed. They will also specify whether the building is commercial, residential or industrial.
With regard to commercial facilities, the owners will give the number of parking spaces. The GVD then have six months to confirm the value of properties. If these were overestimated, the overpayment will be refunded.
This measure relates to those who built their homes after the promulgation of the New Local Government Act 2011. "This includes citizens and owners of commercial buildings whose construction was completed after December 2011," said an officer of Local Government. This measure will be in effect until next year.
"After that, it is the data of Land Administration, Valuation and Information Management System will be used."
