Starting next week, taxpayers will be able to access tax forms from the website of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA). But first, these employees will receive by mail this week from their official correspondence communicating a Log-In/Password to be able to access their files from the MRA.

For this fiscal year, the MRA has brought innovations and improvements to the formula e-filing for greater security of confidential taxpayer. The schedule indicates that with the availability of internet tax forms from Monday, taxpayers opting for e-filing will have until April 15 for submission of Returns of Income and payment by electronically.

For those taxpayers who prefer to continue with the old method of manuscript form and payment at the counter of the MRA or who do not have opportunities for e-filing, the deadline has been set for Monday 1 April because March 31 is a Sunday. Even if the MRA, it refuses to confirm the possibility of a further extension of this date, it is clear that on April 1 coincides with Easter Monday. In a not too distant past, a further period of 24 hours was granted by the MRA given Easter Monday with the deadline for the submission of the pain.

Nevertheless, the MRA account capitalize on innovations in order to increased security of confidential data of taxpayers and to rule out any possibility of Hacking. In this perspective, all taxpayers will have to register on the website of the MRA from the end of this week to subsequently access their tax forms.

In this perspective, each taxpayer will receive in the coming days a letter from the MRA revealing their confidential Log-In/Password. Using personal data, it will be able to register officially. Join the site of taxpayers has not yet been launched as the letters to taxpayers with individual Password will be freed until today.

The registration page will open automatically to receive the personalized data of the taxpayer. This exercise will also enable the MRA to conduct an Updating of individual records of taxpayers available in its database with the numbers of bank accounts for payments electronically.

officials support the MRA with the formula registration with e-services, submitting tax forms from February 15 will be a breeze. "Indeed, with the introduction of Log-In/Password provided by mail, the taxpayer will end up not with a blank tax form to fill out, as was the case so far, but will on the screen computer a Pre-Filled Income Tax Return on the basis of data provided officially by the MRA employers. The Tax Payer will be responsible for conducting audits of the Pre-Filled Income Tax Return and make changes on the basis of Statements of Fees provided by employers if necessary, before the return electronically to the database MRA, "said the Mauritian understand one of the leaders of the MRA.

Filled The Pre-Tax Income is made possible with the Returns of Employees submitted by employers to the MRA. In case of non-submission of these data, the forms will not be used prefilled. It seems that the return rate recorded at the end of last week had not yielded the desired results.

"This new form of e-filing for individual taxpayers has been tested with those falling into the CPS category. It worked well and we do not expect major problems except a question of adaptation, "says one to the MRA.
