Tourist Village of Belle Mare: No Buyer "Interested"

A meeting was held last week to decide the fate of this commercial space, which cost Rs 185 million to the state. And whose maintenance requires considerable budget.

Private firms

The tourist village of Belle Mare would host local artisans. But after the government decided that it would be difficult to monetize, the decision was made to sell to private firms. Hence the launch of the tender last year. There was even talk of leaving the management to the private sector.

Given the failure of the tender, the Ministry of Finance is studying the possibility of the tourist village of Belle Mare available to multiple departments. It could thus be used for cultural and artistic events, among others.

Asked for more details, the Ministry of Finance did not want to say more about his intentions.

In 2006 the government decided to build this commercial space next to the Belle Mare Waterpark . With thirty stalls and exhibition center, it was designed to help local artists and artisans to sell their products. The building was built of cut stone was originally cost Rs 85 million. But at the end of the work, it cost more than double.
