These entrepreneurs will be offered an internship placement in six small and medium enterprises in Mauritius for a period of four weeks. They also receive training in various sectors such as textiles, decoration, printing, hairdressing, crafts, baking, horticulture and photography.
Stressing the importance of training entrepreneurs, the Minister of Education and Human Resources Vasant Bunwaree said that education and training are at the heart of the economic recovery strategy of Mauritius. "My department is working closely with the Rodrigues Regional Assembly to meet the most pressing needs in human resources to ensure the economic growth of the island. And in this spirit, I wish to remain attentive to the realities Rodrigues by offering wellness programs targeted training, "said the minister.
Serge Clair, Chief Commissioner of Rodrigues and Indranee Seebun, Director of SMEDA, were present at the launching ceremony of the program.
