With the imminent creation of a MCCI Alternative Dispute Resolution Center, the Chamber of Commerce provides local and regional operators with an infrastructure platform confidential and adapted for rapid dispute resolution procedures.

This was explained to the President of the MCCI , Ganesh Ramalingum , during a press briefing to discuss the conclusion of a partnership agreement between the MCCI and mediation center and Arbitration of Paris ."This agreement marks the beginning of a close collaboration between our two institutions for the creation of MCCI Alternative Dispute Resolution Center.
The center aims to position itself as a major national and regional center of commercial dispute resolution using alternative dispute resolution , such as arbitration and mediation. "The MCCI has , according to Ganesh Ramalingum , many strengths, including a deep knowledge of the business world at local, regional and international level, but also has recognized by the business community and other stakeholders extensive experience such as the ICC and ITC . It also has a strong network , built over many years - both in the private and public sectors - as well as an institutional reputation dating back to 1850 and has always been based on " a culture of good governance and transparency. " In addition, the MCCI is a member of the prestigious International Chamber of Commerce (ICC ) .
The agreement of Franco- Mauritian partnership is expected to create a synergy between Mauritius and Paris institutions to build capacity internally to MCCI and develop other services, such as commercial mediation. It will also allow the training of lawyers and professionals based on MCCI Business School. Training seminars , extending over three or four days are already planned on 4 and 11 November.Cheeroo Mahmood , Secretary General of the MCCI MCCI observed that a lot pleaded with successive governments for at least ten years to encourage and promote the use of arbitration and the adoption of legislation necessary for its development , who finalized in 2004 and 2008 respectively.
According to the President of the MCCI , mediation is "very important" for a country like Mauritius, including the economy. "We believe that mediation , which is based on specific techniques, can successfully unlock many situations between operators and allow them to resume business with faster and less expensive solutions ," said Ganesh Ramalingum . In fact, the MCCI Alternative Dispute Resolution Center may, to a large extent , reduce the workload burden on the courts . "We know that the courts are too congested trial.
However, in the commercial sector , operators must move quickly , at the risk of their business decline , "said Ganesh Ramalingum .Barlen Pillay , manager of the Legal and Business Facilitation Division MCCI , dwelt at length on the advantages of arbitration and mediation. Arbitration will last at the most six months. " This will help control the elements of cost and time that the courts can not guarantee . This explains the rapid expansion of these methods resolutions business worldwide conflict, " he said .Operators now have the choice between private arbitration and judicial arbitration .
In contrast, in countries such as Britain , the law provides that private arbitrations and mediations are favored. The court then appears as the last resort. Raju Jadoo and Purusram Ujoodha also attended the briefing.
