He said this while talking to the High Commissioner of Mauritius to Pakistan Muhammad Rashad Daureeawo, who paid a courtesy call to the minister of state.
Khan said that our new government is opening up the economic opportunities in the country. To cope with the energy shortage in Pakistan, there are a lot of upcoming new schemes in the power and energy sector, like exploration and production of untapped oil and gas resources, conversion of power generation from furnace oil to the coal and other cheaper fuels, upgradation of the existing generation plants to their optimal capacity and improvement in the power transmission system. He told the Mauritian high commissioner that several nations have shown their keen interest to invest in the energy sector of Pakistan. He invited Mauritius to invest in these schemes and benefit from the investment opportunities available in Pakistan.
