Mauritian Rye Joorawon experienced this Sunday 1 st December, one of the greatest moments of his career as a jockey. He made all Mauritians proud to Champ de Mars by reversing a situation that seemed compromised after the first day of the International Weekend Saturday to become the first local jockey to get the Golden Whip this competition since the first edition of this championship in 1984.
He signed two spectacular victories King's Guard and Azapel in 5th and 6th respectively races to move up the Aussie Nash Rawiller in the standings. He had yet started the day with a bang on Sunday Winged Captain. It survived an objection Joorawon, who came second on Hills Of Rome upon arrival. Winged Captain shined throughout. Joorawon had no more luck in the next event by failing to head on a Direct Approach behind Mighty Fine. He took the lead in the 1000m and he fought to the end to repel the Direct Approach.
But Mauritius has not yet said its last word. He had to show King's Imperial Guard in the 5th race. It was the peak of his form to come steal the victory Diamond's Light, on which Burke seemed to have the most difficult to the right half-line. King's Guard got this Sunday, his 6 th win of the season. And the title of champion, Joorawon has ripped Rawiller in the main event by winning Azapel. Admittedly, it was hot when the Indian jockey Singh lodged an objection against him after arrival, but the commissioners were to maintain the order of arrival.
Moreover, the Italian rider Marcialis assured his championship title in the competition Fegentri by winning 3rd Tobeastar race. His mount followed by 2nd Mc Naught position behind before taking the head straight. Wing Man finished strongly to take the 2 nd instead.
Ambassador Rox, ridden by William Buick, justified its rating favorite in the 4th race. He followed like a shadow Assogia Wood before back in the second part of the straight.
The Italian Demuro signed a victory with Day Of Reckoning who felt grow wings on the soft track in the 7th race. He ran rearguard before producing better acceleration in a straight line back to Bronco Buster and resist Prince Alwahtan. And the season ended with the victory of Donnie Brasco, which offered a second weekend in Ajtebi, the rider from the United Arab Emirates.
