If gas prices remain high on the international market, "he'll have to sound the alarm," warns the director of the State Trading Corporation (STC), Megh Pillay. It confirms that 25% increase in gas prices ahead.

However, gas appliances will not suffer because of government subsidy. For this, the state should pay Rs 50 million and more just for the month of December.  "This is double the subsidy for the month," Megh Pillay highlighted. 

The price of domestic gas cylinder of 12 kg and should be maintained at Rs 330. With the increase of 25%, STCC buy the bottle for commercial and industrial use at Rs 676. Against Rs 544 currently.

The director of the STC wants nonetheless reassuring. He says that "generally, this kind of skyrocketing followed by lower prices because the market is affected. But there is no guarantee that " .
