84 Bungalows in Balaclava at Cost of Rs 1 Billion
The waterfront Balaclava will very soon a major development project in the residential area. It is the construction of 84 bungalows spread over 14 residential blocks. Project cost: Rs 1 billion.

Nath Nath & Co Ltd and SAI Hotel Ltd, two Mauritian companies, are the promoters of this project called Coral Beach. They just submitted an application to the Ministry of Environment to get their Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) to move forward with this project which will be located in a place called Ville Valio.

Asked by Le Matinal Friday Girish Kumarsingh Bhowan, one of the promoters of the project, said that it is likely to create jobs for about 500 to 1000 people. "The residential complex will be managed as a hotel," said the project proponent. The security aspect is omnipresent. Each bungalow will have a deep pool.

The complex will include a restaurant, a games room, a gym, a spa and dining rooms. Developers specify in the EIA report to the government that this project will benefit the employment sector.

" The proposed project will further add to economic benefits and will provide for direct as well indirect employment opportunities. This site has in the past been used for agricultural practices and given the characteristics of the soil, its topography as well as its proximity to the lagoon, impacts from the use of fertilizer and other chemical products such as weedicide and insecticide have had potential impact on the near-shore and lagoon biotic features through surface run off and and groundwater contamination" state sponsors in this report prepared by Coastal Specialists Ltd.. This will be addressed through earthworks to be undertaken in this area. Developers proposing to establish this place a green space.

Developers have used a team of specialists for the construction of the residential complex. Ducasse Mark & Associates, international engineering firm, has been asked. The architecture of the project was entrusted to an international firm: MAB Ikhwezi Architects. If all goes as planned, the first pickaxe should be given in April 2014 for the start of the project.
