The Commission of Inquiry on the alleged scam land and other properties appealed for witnesses. It invites Mauritians or foreigners who have information about dubious land transactions to make themselves known.
This commission was set up last year after the government got wind that foreigners bought land in Mauritius through front companies. She also suspected foreign companies illegally bought buildings in Mauritius with the help of lawyers and professionals.
The members of the Committee must shed light on numerous allegations in land involving foreigners. A source close to the committee said that since last year, several reports have been compiled. But it would take more to finalize a solid report. Witnesses should contact the secretary of the commission to the following email address: ahveewoo@intnet.mu
