No New Cases of Dengue: Fumigation Terminate
Since April 3, 7120 households were visited by health inspectors to detect fever. Thus, 1398 samples were analyzed in the laboratory Candos. And the results were negative.

Several exercises cleaning, fumigation but control are underway. And even if fumigation cease Saturday, cleanings and other inspections, they, will continue, says the Ministry of Health said in a statement issued on Friday, April 11. 

In fact, since cases of dengue were registered in Triolet , the village and surrounding areas, namely Pointe-aux-Piments, Trou-aux-Biches, Morcellement St-André, Balaclava, Le Goulet, Arsenal, Petit Gamin, Bois Mangues, Pamplemousses – SSRN Hospital, Beau Plan and Bois Rouge and were covered by an exercise in vector control. Since last Tuesday and until Saturday, April 12th, the operation was extended to Plaine-des-Papayes, Fond-du-Sac, Vale, Sotise, Grand-Baie, Pointe-aux-Canonniers and Mont-Choisy. 

At Thursday, April 10, 2014, 67,560 homes and 3,054 wasteland were treated with insecticide.The exercise continues. Fumigation activities will end on Saturday. 62,483 homes and 5,987 vacant lots have already been covered by this exercise.

On the other hand, 1,572 notices were served for non-compliance on the standing water on the roof and around houses. The cleaning operation is maintained. And the Ministry of Health also intends to propose new measures to strengthen the vector control strategy.
