Rodrigues: drilling to detect new groundwater...

The Rodrigues Public Utilities Corporation is stepping up measures to try to improve the supply of drinking water on the Island.

Firstly, the rehabilitation of Anse Raffin Dam was initiated last Friday by the Chief Commissioner, Johnson Roussety.

The island is experiencing one of the worst droughts since the 1980s.

Note that the executive council of the regional assembly decided to grant drilling permits to the Rodrigues Public Utilities Corporation to detect new groundwater on the island.
