Renovation of the Fort Georges Power Plant in Les Salines: CEB victim of a Rs 13 million scam

Joe Lesjongard, Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, claims that the Central Electricity Board was the victim of a Rs 13 million scam.

In response to Opposition Whip Patrick Assirvaden's question on the work at the Fort Georges power station in Les Salines, Minister Lesjongard revealed that the company chosen to carry out the work would be a ghost company.

After an internal investigation by the CEB, the organization concluded that it had been the victim of this scam. The case was referred to the police.
