Navin Ramgoolam officially appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius

The announcement was made this evening by the Office of the President of the Republic. Navin Ramgoolam, leader of the Labour Party and the Alliance for Change, has been officially appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius.

This follows the general election held across the Republic of Mauritius this Sunday, November 10, where the results which came in early this morning revealed that 60 seats were awarded by the voting people to the Alliance of Change and two to the OPR.

Pravind Jugnauth thus submitted his resignation as Prime Minister this Tuesday.
