The festival’s aim was to promote healthy living in Mauritius by introducing the latest innovations, new concepts and products and services. The event was held at The Links Ebene City Hotel, Ebène.
The focus was on products and services ranging from fitness equipment, healthy cookware, bio and therapeutic products, essential oils among others.
Speaking to The Independent, the organiser of the Wellness Festival, Geraldine Mamet said, “The need is to educate people about hygiene. There are professionals here who offer personalised services because each person is different.”
She highlighted that fitness is very important and that not many people on the island exercise. She added that exercising is necessary to bring a balance between mental and physical health.
The idea is to give professionals the opportunity to share their knowledge with those interested in practicing wellness.
She added, “The festival has been a huge success. This year for a change we have introduced a lot of bio products that are very beneficial. In addition, we have incorporated these into the food court menu so that visitors could try them and understand how healthy they are.”
One of the visitors, Ghislaine Perovic, assistant administrator at Clinique de Lorette said, “This is the first time that I am coming to such an exhibition. I like the fact that there are such good products in terms of technology and beauty. I like the stone cookware. It is an excellent product.”
