Satellite broadcaster DStv has launched the DStv Eutelsat Star Awards which will be open to Mauritians aged 14 to 19.
The competition is aimed at 42 countries from Africa, including Mauritius, and youngsters will have to write an essay or design a poster which will reflect how a satellite can help in the development of their country or the African continent.
Two winners – essay and poster – of the competition will have the chance to watch the launching of a satellite. For the essay competition, participants are required to submit an essay either in French or English.
DStv wants to encourage students across Africa to develop their talents in illustration and writing about science and technology.
