The annual culinary competition of Veranda Resorts was organised on Thursday and was aimed at selecting future top chefs.
Each of the four teams participating in the competition was led by the deputy team of hotels under the Veranda Resorts. These are Veranda Paul & Virginie,
Veranda Palmar Beach, Veranda Grand Baie and Veranda Pointe aux Biches.
They comprised one representative from each hotel. Each team prepared a soup, a starter, main course and dessert from local vegetables and spices. The ingredients were given to them on the eve of the competition.
On D Day they were given two hours to prepare the dishes and hand them to the judges. A panel of chefs from other hotels was present to taste the
different dishes and announce the winners.
Two groups were selected and the finals will be held on September 28 at Pointe aux Biches hotel.
The winner will have the opportunity to represent Veranda Resorts in all forthcoming national culinary competitions.
The competitors were judged on several criteria such as the appearance, colour,taste and originality
