Gamma Civic Ltd. (GML), Mauritius’s largest construction company by market value, jumped the most in 19 months after saying it will pay a special dividend.
The stock advanced as much as 13 percent, the biggest jump since December 2009, and traded up 6.9 percent to 481 rupees at 11:06 a.m in Port Louis the capital. A close at that level would be the highest since July 1995.
Gamma will pay a special dividend of 40 rupees per share on or about Aug. 30, the company said in a statement on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius website published after the close of trading yesterday.
