In an interview to The Independent, Khera stated that people become successful if they always give more than what they get.
You have been to Mauritius before. What attracts you to the island?
I see tremendous amount of potential here. There is a hunger and thirst for training and education among people in the corporate world and the government sector. I believe that if we want to survive and thrive, there is no other way but to train ourselves to reach a certain world class level.
How do you inspire people to realise their full potential?
The whole process is teaching and training. The difference is that teaching is imparting information, training is practicing and internalising the information. The aim is to bring teaching, training into the system.
What is the most challenging part as a motivator?
Our role is to act as a catalyst. When something appeals to the head and the heart, people change. If we appeal only to the head, nothing really happens. In our interactive programme, people get self-realisation and walk away with an action plan toimprove themselves.
Can you tell us about the Shiv Khera Business School?
We are looking at a long term relationship with Whitefield Business School and are planning to licence them to operate under our name. Next year, we expect to kick off post graduate programmes in leadership and management.
What are the courses that will be offered?
Courses on leadership, communication, time management, selling skills and presentation skills will be offered. I will be teaching 40 to 50 per cent of the courses myself.
Could you elaborate on your famous quote ‘Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently’.
The most important thing winners do differently is that they have the habit of doing things that losers do not like to do. The things that losers do not like to do are the same things winners also do not like to do but they do it anyway.
Any message to readers?
Live by the principle, ‘I will always give more than what I get to my family, organisation, society’.
