A presentation was made to launch the ‘Observatoire de L’industrie’ portal.
In his speech, the minister of Industry and Commerce said that the setting up of the consultative workshop falls in line with the government programme to support industries. He explained, “The economy is doing fairly well in the wake of the economic problems that took place in 2008-09 and the renewed Euro crisis. Entrepreneurs have to operate in a difficult economic situation since it’s difficult to foresee risks.”
He also insisted on the need for enterprises to innovate, chalk out strategies to face emerging trends and be able to adjust to non-stop change in the global economy.
He said, “This is because we are living in a world which is a ‘tower of information’ where we have to create a brand community in a digital era.”
Sayed Hossen explained, “History has shown that nations that are rich in information command the world. However, information is scattered and is ever-changing and therefore there is a need to be processed quickly to lead to decision-making,”He added that through the ‘Observatoire de L’industrie’ the aim is to bridge the information gap between private sector and entrepreneurs. The portal has been developed to facilitate access to information. The main objectives of the observatory are economy watch, business start-ups, market intelligence, trade agreements, sustainable development, global competitiveness and industry statistics and trade flows.
The minister also underlined that the government is committed to support enterprises and the private sector, which are critical to economic development. He added, “The aim of the private sector is to create wealth and employment and provide economic stability.” He added that the government will revisit marketing and growth strategies.
