This was announced during a press conference at the Municipality of Port Louis on Thursday, headed by the minister of Labour Shakeel Mohamed, the president and vice president of Zeness Social de Plaine Verte, Abdallah Syed Hoossain and Nanyeck Oleeamed Oozeer respectively and the head of the ladies wing of the organisation, Nazeerah Abdoola Cassim. “The aim is to keep the youth occupied through healthy activities during their holidays,” said the president. “Our organisation’s motto is Plaine Verte: forging ahead with the youth. We will also involve neighbouring regions such as Camp Yoloff, Vallée des Pretres, Roches Bois and Cité Martial. We will involve parents too,” added Hoossain.
Mohamed, who was present as deputy of the concerned constituency, said that this is a highly laudable initiative undertaken by the youth. “The focus is on local talent,” said the minister.
