Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES) is accelerating efforts to complete marking and compilation of apers. The director of MES, Prof Lucien Finette told The Independent: "If the correction of the papers had been stopped due to the elections, this would have created a huge delay. But then, the Ministry of Education made sure that the correction exercise is not delayed, but rather accelerated."
He added: "The correction, verification, editing and data capture will be completed ahead of the elections. The correctors have till December 3 to complete all the procedures." Finette stated number of correctors have been increased from 2,200 to 2,500, and daily working hours have been extended from 7 am to 6 pm instead of 9 am to 4 pm.
