The Best Schools List due to CPE 2012

First place is for the Kistoe Aryan Vedic Hindu Aided school in Vacoas and the Sir Veerasamy Ringadoo school in Quatre-Bornes.

This year, the establishment of Vacoas has dislodged that of Quatre-Bornes. While the performance of Sir V. Ringadoo GS is maintained at 97% compared to last year, that of Kistoe Aryan Vedic has increased from 95.96% to 99%.

In the list of the first 10 schools, we note that they are all in cities. Including three in Port-Louis, two in Curepipe, two in Quatre-Bornes, two in Vacoas and one in Beau-Bassin. Note that the Petit-Raffray school is in 11th position (89.43% against 72.84% in 2011) and the M. Foogooa school in Montagne-Longue is in 12th place (88.98% against 83, 69%).

In the ranking of the 25 best schools, there are only seven rural schools, namely Petit-Raffray GS (11th), M. Foogooa GS in Montagne-Longue (12th), D. Hurry GS in Goodlands (20th), R. Gujadhur GS in Centre-de-Flacq (22nd), Lady P. Boolell in Montagne-Blanche (23rd), Willoughby GS (24th) and Rose-Belle North GS (25th).

Regarding the schools of the Roman Catholic Authority (RCA), two are among the 10 best in the country in 2012 and five among the 25 best. More specifically Notre-Dame de Lorette de Port-Louis (91.60% in 7th place), Philippe Rivalland (90.09% in 9th), Notre-Dame des Victoires (88.61% in 13th), Notre-Dame -Lady of Lourdes (86.44% in the 16th), Notre-Dame de la Confiance (85.21% in the 19th).

The 2011-2012 comparative results for the top 10 schools are as follows: Kistoe Aryan Vedic in Vacoas (95.96% vs. 99%), Sir V. Ringadoo GS in Quatre-Bornes (97.52% vs. 97.41%) , Villiers Rene GS in Port-Louis (94.64% against 96.55%), Hugh Otter Barry in Curepipe (95.09% against 95.12%), Raoul Rivet in Port-Louis (94.19% against 94 .84%), Emilienne Rochecouste in Quatre-Bornes (84.17% against 92%), Notre-Dame de Lorette in Port-Louis (91.53% against 91.60%), Nunkeesor Saddul (84.35% against 90.35%), Philippe Rivalland RCA (86.28% against 90.09%) and Curepipe Road GS (90.43% against 90.08%).

At the bottom of this list of public schools having presented more than 100 candidates, we find the Serge Coutet school in Baie-du-Tombeau, with the meager performance of 20.18%. Only 22 students passed out of 109. She is preceded by Bambous Geoffroy (28.95%) and Bambous A GS (37.31%).

Private schools are the only ones to score well in the 2012 CPE exams, namely Lorette School in Vacoas, Le Nid, Doha, Orchard Kids in Triolet, The Arden Junior School and Lorette Junior School in Curepipe. The list of top 10 schools in this category is completed by Institute of Islamic & Secular Studies (98.36%), Dar-Ul-Ma'arif (98.04%), S. Ramuddin GS (94.23%) and Swami Sivananda GS (91.36%).
