Because of Rain Schools, Universities and Training Institutions Closed

National Meteorological Station issued for six hours on Wednesday a notice of torrential rains. All schools are closed. The rivers are in spate and the public warned.

For six hours on Wednesday 13 February, the country is under a notice of torrential rains. More than 100 millimeters of rainfall were recorded over the past 12 hours. The weather forecast of showers throughout the day and everywhere across the island.

Almost all the rivers are in spate. Authorities are asking the public not to approach the river banks and caution is advised motorists.

On the other hand, the firefighters were very busy last night. Floods were reported in several areas of the island, especially in the south.

South, east and central plateau are copiously watered last night. Some bridges are flooded, the bridge and the bridge Lardier Souillac which are again impassable.
