Open University: Entries Open Monday
This establishment specializes in distance learning courses, had retained some 700 candidates at the beginning. The direction of the OU said to accommodate more students this time. It provides additional training programs.
New courses offered are: BSC HR Management and Development, BSC Marketing Management, BA Hons Graphic Design and Multimedia, BSC Business Management with Correctional Services and Postgraduate Diploma in Mobile Technology and Web Application. These courses are offered in response to increased demand, said Kaviraj Sukon, CEO of the OU.
In addition to traditional courses, the OU also offers more training on 'soft skills' for those seeking employment. Moreover, the direction of the OU undertook the necessary steps with the international bodies for the opening of three study centers in Africa, specifically in Botswana, Kenya and Uganda. "We have submitted all the necessary documents to the relevant authorities. Now the ball is in their court, "said Professor Sukon.
Other efforts are underway for the establishment of a Confucius Institute in Mauritius by the end of 2013. An agreement awaits ratification with the Zhejiang Radio and TV University (ZRTVU) of China.
