CPE: Second Chance
Students who take the exams for the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) will have a second chance this year if they are reset in an important matter.

Indeed, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources is actively working on a project to allow these students to take part in a second review to give them the chance to have a full certificate prior to their entry into Form 1.

According to the Ministry of Education, about 2,000 students each year fail in a subject. It was after the results were announced in December, these students will have the chance to retake the exams.

The Ministry of Education has already begun discussions with the Government Teachers Union (GTU) in this regard. The union represents the majority of teachers in the country.

Asked by Le Matinal, Vinod Seegum, President of GTU, said the union agrees with the suggestion by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.

"We in the GTU, we welcome the suggestion by the Ministry of Education. We want our children are not traumatized when they fail in one subject. Instead of losing a year, they will have the opportunity to climb the ladder, "said the president of the GTU.

According to the Ministry of Education, parents whose offspring have failed in one subject, will be notified by mail of the second chance will be given to their children. The Ministry of Education is in talks with the GTU compared to "important matters." The teachers union supports the idea of ??considering the English, French and mathematics as important issues in the context of this exercise.
