Recognition Affiliated to India Universities ...
The TEC should it get the green light from his Indian counterpart, the UGC before allowing a university in the Great Peninsula to set up in Mauritius? An agreement signed in 2010 between the two understand that leave no ... But the UGC has repeatedly said she did not recognize the diplomas outside the territory.

It is a clause on the recognition of institutions that have mysteriously disappeared in 2010 ... This clause, however, was indeed present in an agreement between the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2007. But three years later, after the arrival of the Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management University(EIILM), a new agreement was signed.

Clause 10.0 of the agreement stated that: " Both sides commit Themselves to Collaborate on issues Pertaining to registration, recognition of institutions and accreditation of programs According to the rules and procedures in . the respective countries " The mention of "recognition of institutions "implies mutual consultation bodies before allowing a private university to open its doors in the two countries.

That was 18 April 2007. Before EIILM has the approval of the TEC to open its doors. Thus, according to the agreement signed this year, the UGC should be consulted beforehand. But in May, the Mauritian branch of EIILM, Sikkim, opened its doors. However, the UGC had informed the TEC in 2007 that " EIILM University is not permitted to set up a branch in Mauritius " .

It was a response to a decision of the board of the TEC to " seek advice "of the UGC on the application for recognition made by the EIILM. But the response of the UGC came in October, while EIILM had already opened ... And it's hard to imagine the board again asking the opinion of the UGC on EIILM a month later.

This timeline also would undermine the version of the former director, Praveen Mohadeb. He has always denied accusations that he did not submit to board the TEC letter of UGC dated March 28, 2007. " I am directed to inform you That EIILM Sikkim is not included in the list of Universities maintained Being ... " states the letter.

Since then, there has been a renewal of the agreement UGC-TEC 4 March 2010. And the clause no longer speak of " recognition of institutions " . This change would not be trivial, according to sources familiar with the matter. TEC and broke all ties with the UGC in respect of the recognition of institutions.
