A storm could befall those who loiter in the streets or elsewhere during a cyclone. According to a source close to the Government House, the unwary will now be fined and must pay a fine.
"We have drawn conclusions about what happened in the past. There are many people who go to the beach, for example, when a hurricane warning is in effect. They put their lives but also the firefighters, police and rescue workers at risk, " says our source.
He added that the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Bill is being prepared. It should contain items to restrict the movement of members of the public during cyclones or while the country faces natural disasters.
For example, in case of hurricane winds, it is strictly forbidden to leave, to venture into sea or near rivers. If the instructions are not complied with, the offenders will be punished.
Moreover, the weather should be called, in turn, to revise its warning system, especially with regard to heavy rains.
Bill prepared to this effect was presented to the Cabinet there are two weeks and should be adopted by the parliamentary session scheduled for next month.
