They are clueless. Of the 25,981 candidates who took part in examinations of Certificate of Primary Education , 2145 are without college for the distribution of results Wednesday, Dec. 11. The reason: their parents have not filled the Option Form . However, the Department notifies the public that those wishing to apply for a place in a state college can do so on Dec. 18 during the year of transfer of students already enrolled. The ministry will soon issue a statement informing parents modalities for transfer and registration.
Having an alternative is necessary to those who do not specifically target state colleges: private or denominational colleges, where some 5,000 places are still available. Parents dissatisfied with the college assigned to their children by the state can do the same.
Of 5000 places still available, 4200 relate colleges Private Secondary Schools Authority (PSSA) and 833 of those Catholic Education Bureau (BEC). The total number of seats allocated by colleges Form I is 17 944. 1,870 places are allocated in national colleges and 6,005 in regional state colleges. As for the 10,069 remaining in private and denominational colleges seats, half of which is "reserved" by the Ministry of Education.
