Dengue: Six New Cases Including Four in Triolet

Between Thursday and March 20 Saturday, March 22, six new cases of dengue were identified: four to Triolet, a Pointe-aux-Pimets and Valley Pitot. This is indicated by a statement from the Ministry of Health issued today.

In total, 26 people were infected with dengue. 23 of them live in Triolet. Regarding the recorded in Pointe-aux-Fruits cases it is a child who goes to Triolet at least twice a week. And the Vallée Pitot capita infected working in this village in the north. Also, another case was identified in Belvedere last week. "All patients are clinically stable" , assures the ministry in a statement.

Of spraying operations and fumigation took place last week at Triolet. And surrounding areas, including Pointe-aux-Piments, Trou-aux-Biches, Balaclava, Le Goulet, Arsenal, Petit Gamin, Morcellement St-André, Fond-du-Sac, Plaine-des-Papayes, Bois Mangues, Pamplemousses/SSRN Hospital, Beau Plan and Bois Rouge.

But the rain in recent days play spoilsport. A second application is expected to begin Monday, March 24, depending on weather conditions.

And the health team will be strengthened with the deployment of fifty inspectors Triolet on Monday. They shall in particular ensure that there is no standing water on the roof and around houses. A notice will be served to any offender who has a period of 48 hours to remedy the situation. Otherwise, it will be assessed a fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000.
