The 70-year-old 1996 Afcon-winning mentor told African Football that talks between his representatives and the Mauritius FA are at advanced stages.
“I haven’t got anything concrete for now but I will let you know as soon as something comes up,” Barker told African Football.
“News travel fast hey, (laughing)... I don’t know yet about the offer but my representatives will get more information and come back to me.
“Trevor (Mosehathebe), Glyn’s (Binkin) assistant will gather more information and definitely update me on this.”
Barker guided Bafana Bafana to their only Africa Cup of Nations success in 1996.
According to the soccer website, one of Mauritius' best ever players and former Santos strierk, Jean-marc Ithier, is believed to be the link between the association and Barker.
