MauBank: Vishuene Vydelingum New Managing Director
MauBank is pleased to announce the appointment of Vishuene Vydelingum as the new Managing Director, effective November 22, 2023, and Issa Soormally as Deputy Managing Director effective November 23, 2023.

As Deputy Managing Director of MauBank until his appointment, Vishuene Vydelingum brings a wealth of experience and proven success in banking. With a distinguished career spanning over 25 years, Mr. Vydelingum has held various senior management positions in leading banks including BNPI, Barclays Bank Mauritius and Seychelles, where he was successively a trader, treasurer, corporate banker , commercial director and business manager. He has always demonstrated exceptional vision, a keen sense of strategy and a passion for growth.

Vishuene Vydelingum said he is very excited to take on his new role and to have the opportunity to work with the talented team he already knows. “I am honored to have been chosen as CEO of MauBank, a bank that has been turned around and experiencing remarkable growth. Likewise, Mr. Soormally's extensive experience in the central banking and financial sector – local and international – makes him a strong addition to our leadership team. He will be invaluable in guiding the bank through its next phase of growth and development. The appointment of the CEO and DCEO comes at a crucial time for MauBank, which thus consolidates its position among the leaders of the national industry.

Soormally is a leading business leader in the field of banking and financial services, having worked for global and regional conglomerates with presence in Mauritius, Bahrain and Seychelles, namely BNPI, Barclays, Bramer Bank, Bank of Muscat International , Al Salam Bahrain and Toukan Corporate Services Ltd. He also has a proven track record in international banking in various jurisdictions, such as France, Luxembourg, Reunion Island, Kenya, Dubai and South Africa.

He had the opportunity to work at the regulatory level, at the Central Bank of Mauritius as Second Deputy Governor, and is currently Vice-Chairman of the Economic Development Board. He is also a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors, a member of the Strategy Subcommittee of Mauritius Finance and a member of the Board of Directors of the Mauritius Africa Fund under the aegis of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

Vishuene Vydelingum replaces Premchand Mungar, who has served as Managing Director since November 2018. Mr. Mungar has played a pivotal role in MauBank's growth and achievements during his tenure, and the company expresses its gratitude to him for his contributions significant.
