ICTA orders temporary suspension of social media

It is a decision that has been generating reactions since this morning.

All social media platforms are suspended until November 11, following a directive issued by the Information & Communication Technology Authority to telecommunications operators on Wednesday evening.

According to a statement from operator Emtel, ICTA has asked all telecommunications operators to temporarily suspend access to all social media platforms due to illegal posts that may threaten national security and public safety.
