Initiatives With High Added Value and Africa ...
By investing in biotechnology, the IBL group has developed an important activity to extract protein, amino acid and lipid products of the sea The group marks its presence in Africa through the acquisition of 50% of the shareholding of a Ugandan society.

In a business environment dominated by the phenomenon that is inevitable competition, the use of high value added activities is a way out for operators who do not want to rest on their laurels and have a taste for measured and calculated risk. It is this path that Ireland Blyth Ltd (IBL), incorporated in the commercial landscape of Mauritius, there are some forty years wants to go.

"Our vision is based on the principle that we should be the group that dares to cross borders in search of initiatives to create value," argues Nicolas Maigrot, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the group.

IBL is present in six sectors namely economic and business financial service, trade, retail through neighbourhood supermarkets installed at different locations on the island, engineering, logistics in the areas of aviation and maritime service and finally in the Seafood sector, among others involved in processing seafood for export. The group's turnover amounted to Rs 16 billion. The company employs approximately 7,000 people.

IBL Biotechnology is a perfect example of this determination to seek value-added activities. Located in the hub of Seafood, this unit is not limited to the transformation of seafood and agriculture. She developed an activity that may take a considerable extent in the future. This is the development of new industrial processes to extract seafood, elements such as protein, peptide, amino acid, and lipid.

This company has a research and development needed in this type of operation, the other three departments respectively in charge of developing projects in order to optimize and improve existing processes and then monitor in quality control and maintenance.

By investing in biotechnology, waste from processing operations of the flesh of fish products become raw material for the manufacture of a meal for animal feed. The extraction of tuna oil, for example, is part of group activities.

IBL does not want to miss the boat on investment in Africa, where growth prospects leave no one indifferent. " We have acquired 50% of the shareholding of Fresh Cut Ltd, a company based in Uganda , "says Nicolas Maigrot. This company specializes in meat cutting and distribution to retailers. This incursion in Uganda is intended as a first step towards a greater commitment on the side of East Africa.

On the sidelines of the celebration of its 40th anniversary, the group decided to break with a past that has not always allowed to be visible as it deserves. This rupture is shown Thursday, June 7, 2012 with a meeting of all heads of sectors and companies of the group with the press.

This demonstrates the will of Nicolas Maigrot not to neglect the importance of communication on 21 October 2012, the group's leaders will unveil the new identity of the group. Its fortieth anniversary will be celebrated with pomp.
