his decision follows on from recent controversies involving Nepalese students in Mauritius.
The authorities held their lesson after the recent controversy about Nepali students in Mauritius. From March 2014, any institution wishing to register as a foreign student must first obtain a permit. It can be removed in case of declining standards of the institution.
Five schools had particularly been complaints of foreign students - and a survey of the TEC and the MQA. Among the Dimensions International Education Group (DIEG) at Pamplemousses, and Spherinity Training Institute (Spherinity Ltd) in Flacq. In fact, last Wednesday, November 13, Nepalese students who say they are victims of fraud went to court to claim the reimbursement of expenses paid in order to restart their education.
The first complaint against Spherinity Training Institute was filed last September. They were protesting against the fact that since their arrival in May Spherinity dispensed only during their "basic" computer and demanded a refund of their tuition fees. It is then that they were dismissed from the tertiary institution for misconduct.
In addition, students will now be required to apply directly to the institution concerned. This puts an end to the actions of recruiters.
