Archive Photo - HSC Laureates
As in previous years, candidates will be able to view their results online, while Education Minister Mahend Gungapersad will unveil the names of the scholarship recipients after meeting the Prime Minister to convey the results.
This year's HSC marks a historic turning point, as it will be the turn of middle school students who have joined academies after passing the National Certificate of Education to be highlighted. We could thus witness the emergence of a female winner in a traditionally boys' college, such as the Royal College of Curepipe, or a winner at Queen Elizabeth College, a historically girls' institution.
In addition to the academies, the HSC Pro winners will also be ones to watch. Since the 2019 vintage, two winners have been announced in this category. Launched in 2015, the HSC Pro includes internships in companies, thus offering professional experience. Last year, Keats College in Chemin Grenier and Lorette College in Mahébourg distinguished themselves.
The success rate will also need to be observed, which saw a decline last year, from 92.25% in 2022 to 84.4% in 2023.
