The names of the 49 scholarship recipients of the vintage 2024 are known and it is the Royal College of Curepipe which has taken the lion's share with 15 winners, including the SSR National Scholarship and the SAJ National Scholarship.
Queen Elizabeth College comes second with 11 winners followed by Mahatma Gandhi Institute with 4 winners.
This year's surprise comes from Sir Leckraz Teelock SSS with a laureate in the science stream. Note that the Royal College of Port-Louis has only one laureate, compared to 8 last year.
HSC results: pass rate drops from 84.4% to 78.8%
As every year, the girls achieved better results.
The pass rate for the 2024 HSC is down from 84.4% to 78.8%.
These figures were revealed by Dr Imtehaze Ahsun, Officer in Charge of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, during a press conference this afternoon. As every year, girls obtained better results, with a pass rate of 81.54% compared to 75.29% for boys.
