The minister also said that the polytechnic school is a model and unique institution in the country.
"Many students, after completing their studies in high school, had a brilliant career. They currently occupy key positions in the Mauritian economy. Moreover, the government has invested more than Rs 3.4 million in equipment training school. The aim is to enable students to benefit from better training conditions for their development, "said he added.
Vasant Bunwaree also praised the vision of the late Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam for the development of technical education. "This led to the creation of the Polytechnic School Sir Guy Forget in 1982. To date, nearly 2,400 high school technicians operate in different business activities in Mauritius, "he has said.
The Minister also dwelt on the government's decision to unite under a single ministry, academic education, technical education and vocational training. "These tasks are certainly not easy, but we have a strong desire to gather all the necessary skills to carry out our mission," he said
